Alan has been with Dixons Carphone for more than seven years and played a significant role in the merger of Dixons and Carphone Warehouse in 2014. Prior to the merger, Alan served as Managing Director for Retail and Property across the UK and Ireland, overseeing the entirety of Dixons’ retail operations in both countries and helping to establish the foundations for the enlarged firm. After the creation of Dixons Carphone, Alan was appointed Managing Director for Retail and Operations, assuming responsibility for logistics and home services. He became Chief Operating Officer for the UK’s largest mobile retailer in May 2017. As part of a wider restructure last year, Alan became part of a team that would lead the group’s customer facing operations and was promoted to the group’s Executive Committee. Alan is also a non-executive director for Mind, the mental health charity.
