Claire Lorains is Chief Executive Officer of Tesco Mobile, the UK’s largest mobile virtual network operator and the 5th largest mobile network in the UK. Claire joined the Tesco Graduate Programme in 2002 working in Marketing after completing her Masters degree. She then worked across many functions within Tesco including Tesco.com and as category director for a number of business areas. During her time as CEO of the joint venture partnership between Tesco and Telefonica O2, Claire has taken the business to over 5 million customers and has overseen the launch of the network’s largest scale brand campaign, as well as moved the company into new customer-focused territories such as flexible contracts. Her passion for colleague development has also seen the launch of a company-wide initiative to further instil empowerment, creativity and leadership across the business. In addition to her UK role, Claire oversees Tesco Mobile globally across Ireland and central Europe and has cemented Tesco’s full ownership of Tesco Mobile Ireland.
