Shop Idol Rules 2023 
Competition 1 - Mobile Salesperson of the Year Retail 

1. Entry for Shop Idol Retail 2023 competition opens 23rd September 2022
2. Entrants enter online here. All entries must be submitted by 25th April 2023. 
3. All entrants must be available for judging, dates to be advised to shortlisted candidates and will be advertised on our website
4. The judging panel is available to view here 
5. The 2023 Shop Idol competition is open to anyone who is currently working within a mobile - physical retail store. Entrants must be employed on or before 1st Jan 2023
6. All candidates must still be employed on 21st September 2023, otherwise they will be eliminated from the competition. 
7. The top 20 entrants - as determined by our competition moderator after reviewing the entry forms, will make it through to Round 1 Judging.
8. These top 20 contestants that have successfully made it through to the judging stage will be named on the Shop Idol website on 28th April 2023.
9. Round one judging will consist of a product knowledge test and 10 minute interview. This will take place on 10th May 2023 and 12th May 2023
10. The top 12 contestants will make it through the mystery shop stage of the judging process. These 12 finalists will be announced 15th May 2023
11. We work with an external supplier to conduct mystery shops - all candidates' scores will be ranked and the top five will make it through to judging round two.  
12. The final five candidates will be announced on 20th June and they will proceed to Round Two judging.
13. Round Two judging will be in person on the 24th July, this will consist of scenario testing and an in-depth interview. 
14. All candidates agree to be filmed during judging 
15. All five contestants will be scored based on their performance during judging 
16. The judges scores will rank the contestants
17. The judges decision is final 
18. The final five will face the public vote 
19. The public vote will rank the final final and combined with the judges ranking will determine the winner
20. The final five will be invited to the Mobile Industry Awards, travel and accommodation for each plus guest will be arranged
21. The winner will be announced at the Mobile Industry Awards on 21st September 2023

2. Entrants enter online here. All entries must be submitted by 25th April 2023. However, this date maybe extended.
3. All entrants must be available for judging, dates to be advised to shortlisted candidates and will be advertised on our website
4. The judging panel is available to view here (insert new judges link).
5. The 2023 Shop Idol competition is open to anyone who is currently working within a mobile contact centre. Entrants must be employed on or before 1st Jan 2023
6. All candidates must still be employed on 21st September 2023, otherwise they will be eliminated from the competition. 
7. The top 20 entrants - as determined by our competition moderator after reviewing the entry forms, will make it through to Round One Judging.
8. These top 20 contestants that have successfully made it through to Round One Judging stage will be named on the Shop Idol website on 30th May 2023.
9. Round One judging will consist of a product knowledge test and 10 minute interview. The date for Round One Judging will be 15th June 2023 and 16th June 2023. 
10. The top five candidates from Round One judging will be announced on 20th June 2023 and they will proceed to Round Two judging.
11. Round Two judging will consist of scenario testing and an in-depth interviews.
12. All candidates agree to be filmed during judging. 
13. All five contestants will be scored based on their performance during judging
14. The judes scores will rank the contestants
15. The judges decision is final 
16. The final five will face the public vote 
17. The public vote will rank the final final and combined with the judges ranking will determine the winner
18. The final five will be invited to the Mobile Industry Awards, travel and accommodation for each plus a guest will be arranged and paid for by Shop Idol 
19. The winner will be announced at the Mobile Industry Awards on 21st September 2023
